AGU co-sponsors four annual Congressional Visits Days (CVD), providing an opportunity for our members to meet with their legislators in Washington, DC, or at home. During the visits, participants discuss the importance of federally funded science research as well as their own research. Contact AGU staff if you are interested in any of these events.
American Geophysical Union Congressional Visits Day (AGU-CVD) – May
For the second year, this event will bring together scientists and educators from AGU’s breadth of sciences to share the wonder and value of Earth and space science with key legislators.
District Congressional Visits Day & Webinar – April & July
You can also show your legislators the value of your science during congressional recesses in your district. AGU hosts a summer webinar to help our members prepare for local district visits.
Geoscience Congressional Visits Day (Geo-CVD) – September
Join other Earth and space scientists at this fall event to discuss the importance of supporting federally funded research with your legislators. 13-14 September.
Climate Science Congressional Visits Day – March
This issue-specific event was created to connect legislators with local climate experts in their districts, to ensure policy makers have the best possible climate science information available to them from trusted sources.
